If God performs miracles, I wouldn’t have sent my wife to the hospital for a minor surgery. Many have prayed for her and yet no healing came. Yep, she’s a believer and I’m not. It was obvious that no miracle was coming.
But God uses doctors and medicines, right? I mean, didn’t Jesus use clay and his own saliva to heal a blind man right? So God does use objects in healing, correct? Hmmm… well, how I wish that some servant of God would have spat on the ground, made some clay and applied it to my wife’s hemorrhoid but well, that didn’t happen. Instead I heard pastors and other believers pray for God to use the doctors and the medicines to cure her.
Honestly, THAT SUCKS!!! Why?
Clay and saliva doesn’t cost a thing. And mind you, even if Jesus did use objects in the bible to heal, the healing was still miraculous. The blind man in the story saw almost immediately - that’s a miracle. But medicines and doctors? Well, my wife is still waiting for her surgical wounds to heal. No, I don’t think God did anything in that. But I’m pretty sure that the doctors and the nurses did.
Sorry for ranting but I’m just growing tired of the typical “God uses doctors and medicines to do his works” type of answers.

One of the many “quick answers” I get when telling Christians that I don’t believe in God is this:
“How would you explain all the miracles in the world?”

Think about this… Can God create a rock so heavy that he cannot lift it?
You might have already encountered this question before and you may already have your answers to this but kindly allow me to use this question to prove that an Absolutely Omnipotent God CANNOT Exist. Note that I used the word “Absolutely” so as to avoid other definitions of omnipotence. I say this because I have encountered definitions of the word that describes omnipotence as merely the capability to do anything that the omnipotent being wishes.

I’m an atheist, my wife’s a Christian and my kids are still young for me to say what they will be when they grow up but this is not about our differences in belief. Recently, a wife posted a comment on one of my Squidoo lenses asking for advise.

A few years ago when I was still a Christian, I spent a lot of my time sharing Christianity to anyone whenever I find the opportunity to do so. Sometimes, I even go as far as “creating the opportunity” just so I can share what I think was the best news a man could ever receive. I think it’s also worth saying that I became head of the mission department of our church twice and I spent a huge part of my schedule opening bible study sessions in places that our church recommended.

I used to thank god for all the food that I ate whether it be a great lunch or just a piece of candy. In fact, I also thanked him for the air I breathe, for the good grades I had in class and just about for anything that I enjoyed in this world. But now that I’m an atheist, I realized how stupid I was thanking god for all these.

I. Thou shall, in compliance with what is reasonable and just, destroy all faiths claiming to be your true faith. In practice, our faiths have only served as an excuse for our poverty, immaturity, moral bankruptcy, social insanity, and enmity against each other in your name and for your glory.

To become an atheist is as easy as looking at the hard evidence and believing in what you see. My path from theism to atheism was Christian -> Agnostic - Atheist. I had my doubts, then I tried to play safe, then I finally accepted the truth that there is no god and religion is all nonsense. Soon, I came into the dilemma of whether I should tell the world that I’m an atheist.

Allow me to quote a famous verse in the bible which is most often called the Golden Rule by many. The verse can be found in Matthew 7:12 and goes like this:

George Carlin is one hilarious atheist who openly denounces God and religion in a very funny manner. Too sad he’s dead. He’s choice of words can be offensive to some but still I think he’s great. If God does exist then I say he badly needs George to give him some sense of humor.
